Handcrafted rifle sling, made by Seelye Leather Works. Made from Water Buffalo and lined with Cow Suede. The sling is adjustable and has Chicago screw fasteners. The sling starting length is 30 1/2″ long, and adjusts out to 33″ long. The sling is from my Economy line (economy AA), it is made from the same quality leather and made with the same craftsmanship as my Standard and Heirloom Slings. All of SLW’s items are handcrafted making each item unique. SLW uses only the finest natural leather, and the natural surface of leather has its own characteristics. The proof of its uniqueness is the markings that occur during the life of the animal. Leather used to create the products of SLW will include scratches, scares, brands, insect bites, indentations, and scuffs. This is an extremely rare original Swiss Army leather sling for the 1911 Schmidt Rubin Rifle. It fits both the 1911 and 1889 models. Probably made between 1911 and 1917. The leather is in very good, used conditions. The sling appears to have been properly taken care f or, through the years, with constant use of leather grease that kept it soft and solid. I removed from sling from a Springfield Trapdoor. This would be ideal for a vintage Springfield. It appears to be from that same vintage, but I’m not certain. The leather shows dry cracking but nothing out of the ordinary for this age. No markings that I could find on it. The sling is 1. Parts Questions and Requests.
