This is an extremely rare original Swiss Army leather sling for the 1911 Schmidt Rubin Rifle. It fits both the 1911 and 1889 models. Probably made between 1911 and 1917. The leather is in very good, used conditions. The sling appears to have been properly taken care f or, through the years, with constant use of leather grease that kept it soft and solid.
