US Army “doughboys” in WW1 were equipped with a specially designed leather rifle sling for use with the M-1903 Springfield. The sturdy M-1907 sling proved so successful that it was again issued during WW2 to carry both the Springfield and the M-1 Garand. This US Army USMC Marine WW1 WW2 M-1907 SPRINGFIELD GARAND LEATHER RIFLE SLING is in good condition, with moderate verdigris to the brass buckles, some surface cracking around most of the buckle holes, some verdigris remaining present inside some of the buckle holes, and with some scattered drying, darkening, and age wear evident (most pictured). Otherwise, the sling is in fine shape, with no other damage to the tough brown leather construction. Most interestingly, it boasts fully intact brass “claw” sizing adjusters, sports both of the original brown leather sizing loops, and is unmarked as to its maker or date.
