leather rifle sling

This M1907 Military Rifle Sling is hand-made by me in a small one man shop. This sling is made from 8/10 oz. Tanned North American leather and American Made attachments, and is 1.25 inches wide. The sling claws are solid brass and attached with solid brass Chicago Screws. Color of this sling is WALNUT– this sling is dipped dyed, the sling is then finished with Montana Pitch Blend and Pecard’s Leather Dressing for extreme weather protection. All edges are hand burnished and sealed with 100% Pure Local Bees Wax. All sewing on the sling is machine sewn with 4 ply bonded nylon military spec thread with 45 lbs. The belt keepers are hand-sewn, using a saddle sitich, with waxed Braded Polyester cord, 1.1mm thick. Leather is a natural product, so it has a characteristic of its own… There maybe some scars or other blemishes, but this adds to the uniqueness of handmade natural products. With quality leather products, there is a breaking in period… Please do not force the leather to conform in the way as you can a canvas or nylon sling–if you bend or squeeze the leather tight against your swivels during the breaking in period, you will crack it and this can not be repaired. Take your time with this sling and enjoy it… Using it is the best way to break it in. If you take care of this heavy handcrafted leather sling, it will last you many years and may become a treasured heirloom for generations to come. PLEASE NOTE : Because of the Heavy Duty Brass Claw, Chicago Screws and the heavy leather used in making these slings–the Brass Claw on the short strap may need to be removed to fit through some sling swivels. The brass screws that hold the Rifle Claw on can be easily removed with a regular screw driver.
