Original U. S. A Army Leather Rifle Sling, American Civil War
A really very nice and pretty early Confederate State marked rifle sling from the American civil war. The sling is of thick leather with adjustable loop to one end and tie holes to the other, the leather is mostly soft and supple but has one area with several side cuts (see photos) this is still good strong and useable. It is marked to one end with 2 stampings, a square one which reads Winters Iron Co, Alabama and an oval stamping reading Montgomery, Inspected, C. For an identical sling see the following link. Amazing to think that a leather sling such as this one has lasted so long having been produced pre 1865 so over 150 years old! Please do not hesitate to send me a best offer!! The item “Original U.
