Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling for the M1903 Springfield, M1918 BAR, M1917 Enfiled or M1 Garand Rifle – Dated 1918 – Three Hook Version – NICE Condition. There sling is faintly dated 1918 w/J. This sling has three correct WWI Blackened Brass Hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keepers. The leather is soft and supple. There is some minor wrinkling on the surface of the leather. Some cracking at one point, see photo’s. The leather has darken with age, but still retains most of that rich russet brown color. The stitching is all tight and intact. This sling was originally made specifically for the M1918A3 BAR Rifle. It was made slightly longer and with three adjustment hooks, instead of two. This was to help make it easier to adjust the sling. This is a 1 1/4 standard width, so it is interchangable with any WWI or WWII era US Rifle. This is an Original Functional WWI era Sling and would look great on a WWI era rifle. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. It is NOT recommened for actual use.
