Offered is an original Civil War era rifle/musket leather sling. Sling is complete with both loops and brass hook still attached. It is not marked that I could find. But, it does bear the initials “LD” and an carved on the sling (see photographs). Some heavy crazing and loss of finish to the leather surface but no cracks have progressed through the leather. The sling is still soft and pliable and could be easily added to a period firearm if done with care. I believe this sling is US made, but could be a European import of the era. Decorative lace and lanyard added both in cover and sling which is 12 oz leather of same. It might look complicated to install but isnt! Just lace on the bottom from front to back like a shoe. The sling is equipped to hold 5-410′s and 5 45LC’ too and lined. Is functional, comfortable, protective and pretty darn neat looking! Note: I can add initials too if desired at no charge!
