Handmade leather gunstock / forearm cover 8 oz leather and sling 10 oz leather to match. Leather is natural oiled leather and is laced with a brown colored deertanned cowhide that gives a real old west look! Matching lever wrap included! Easily attaches , is very attractive and very user friendly. (leather can be different shade depending on the hide). Special attachments supplied and incorporated into assembly. Shells held tightly with heavy loops or no loops at all if desired. Please notify me and I will add a large decorative stitch in place. Com for more designs. If any modifications of the stock have been made cutting off / adding a recoil. Etc that changes the original stock there may be additional charge for making pattern. Please read my feedback! Indian War Era US Army Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Rifle Sling – 4th Pattern – Marked: Rock Island Arsenal – Original – Excellent Condition. This is the 4th Pattern Sling, with the wide prong hook at one end and a brass stud loop at the other end. The sling is approximatley 1 1/4″ wide x 65″ long. The sling has the oval holes. This sling is made from a single length of leather, NOT the salvage civil was musket slings that were sewen together. The leather is soft and supple. Some minor surface cracks. No breaks through the leather. It has the original sling keepers. Still has the original dark brown color. The sling is marked: Rock Island Arsenal w/H. The sling is used, please see photo’s for condition. The age of the leather, will make the sling weaker than when it was new, and may not be able to support the weight of the weapon.
