Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling for the M1903 Springfield, M1918 BAR or M1917 Enfiled – VERY NICE Condition. Ther are no visible markings or dates on the sling. This sling has the correct WWI Blackened Brass hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keepers. The leather is soft and supple. There is some minor wrinkling and cracking on the surface of the leather. The leather has darken with age, but still retains most of that rich dark brown color. The stitching is all tight and intact. One hook is missing a rivet, see photo’s. This is an Original Functional WWI era Sling and would look great on a WWI era rifle. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. It is NOT recommened for actual use. This is the sling that was commonly used on the M1917 Enfield, the M1 Garand, the M1903 Springfield, the M1903A3 Springfield and the M1941 Johnson Rifles. Check out my other items. WWII Era US Army M1907 Leather Sling for M1918 Browning BAR Rifle – Excellent Condition – RARE. This is the longer version of the sling with the three brass hooks, rather than two. This style sling was designed specifically for the US M1918 BAR Rifle. It is used, please see photo’s for Condition. The leather is soft and supple, no rips or tears, no cracking or crazing. The only visible marking on the sling are the initals JF. It has both original sling keepers. These original BAR Slings are getting very hard to find. Please see photo’s. Check out my other items. Indian War Era US Army Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Rifle Sling – 4th Pattern – Marked: Rock Island Arsenal – Original – Very Nice Condition. This is the 4th Pattern Sling, with the wide prong hook at one end and a brass stud loop at the other end. The sling is approximatley 1 1/4″ wide x 65″ long. The sling has the oval holes. This sling is made from a single length of leather, NOT the salvage civil was musket slings that were sewen together. The leather is soft and supple. Some wrinkling of the leather, no cracks or crazing. It has the original sling keepers. Still has the original dark brown color. The sling is marked: Rock Island Arsenal. The sling is used, please see photo’s for condition. The age of the leather, will make the sling weaker than when it was new, and may not be able to support the weight of the weapon.
