LEATHER US 1st MODEL FROG 1887 KRAG TRAPDOOR & SPRINGFIELD RIFLE SLING 69 STAMP
Very nice looking sling overall. This is an original leather sling from a Krag or Trapdoor. This sling type can and was used on other rifles up to 1907 and beyond. It has very good brass hardware and very good leather. The keeper stitching is very strong. The brass button and frog edge next to the leather have some black, dried substance. The frog is securely attached and has the 1st model legs which are thinner than the later frogs. The leather has some medium and mostly darker brown colors. The leather has a combination of smooth and surface wrinkles with almost no hairline cracks and no other visible cracking. The leather is soft and pliable. It is stamped 69. It measures approximately 69 1/4 inches. The backside of the leather looks very good. I will add it if I can capture it. I will be posting more of these slings.
