These are made of soft saddle leather. Very nice and flexible, will give you many years of service. 1 1/4 wide and 48 long. Available in 1 , 1 1/2″, 2″ and 3/4 see other auctions. Includes 2 Chicago screws and 2 leather loops. Pick your color hardware, blue, brass or chrome. If you don’t message the color hardware you want we will send brass hardware. The rivets are counter sunk and a felt pad is put over them to ensure your stock doesn’t get scratched. This is not your typical store bought sling! This is a Custom Made sling. This was taken off a Remington 700. As shown it is 32 inches long. Measuring the leather end to end, which includes the part that wraps around the underside, it is approximately 43 inches long. It comes with common mounting hardware as shown and both units are very clean with very good bluing. The leather is strong, soft, pliable and clean. The padded strap section is very nice looking and well padded. The leather has very minor wear and overall, it doesn’t look like it was used much. A high quality rifle carry strap by Kirkpatrick Leather of Laredo, Texas. It’s their Model 42, cobra-shaped, suede lined, 2 inches wide at the widest point, with a 1-inch strap. It looks to be adjustable from about 25-1/2 inches to 32-1/2 inches. Very nicely made, as you’d expect from Kirkpatrick. Nicely stitched and tooled. Note how the keeper/loop is stitched, not stapled as you find in lower cost slings. The leather measures a bit under 3/16 thick. These are not flimsy, mass-produced slings. This is a vintage Eubanks, Boise, Idaho full leather, basket weave rifle sling. It is in excellent used condition, and comes with Quik-Detach swivels, which are in fine condition. Pioneer continued operations until 1972. So, this was made between 1950 and 1972. There are no stains, and no damage. No cracking of leather, no torn, or even feathered, stitches. The brass holders are excellent, with no oxidation (green gunk). The adjustment loop is as new. Eubanks/Pioneer went to the extra step of stitching a full-length leather backing strip on the inside of the sling. This ensured the sling would remain flat over the shoulder. Most other sling makers of the era did not do this, and over time, the shoulder area of the sling would bend into a “U” shape, which would dig into a narrow point between the clavicle and shoulder, and hurt like hell! No need to ask me how I know this… A rifle with this sling could be carried all day in comfort. The only evidence of use is at the lower adjustment area, which would be near the rifle butt swivel. That is where a hunter would hold the sling, steadying the rifle while hiking (hunters used to hike, now they sit). At that area, there is light darkening from moisture, but no cracking or splitting. This sling will last another hundred years if taken care of. Current length is 31. It can be adjusted between 29″ and 34″, overall.
