Original WW1 British Army 1914 Pattern Leather Lee Enfield Rifle Sling
Original WW1 British Army 1914 Pattern Leather Lee Enfield Rifle Sling. Genuine period 1914 pattern leather sling as used by British infantrymen equipped with the Lee Enfield rifle. During the First World War. The 1914 pattern equipment was introduced as an alternative to the 1908 pattern webbing equipment as there was not enough to equip the large amount of volunteers from 1914 onwards. The sling is an excellent example, the leather is still soft and has a nice aged patina. The underside of the sling is manufacture stamped Edwards Jones O&M and dated 1915. A British government issue broad arrow and no 19 is also present (see pictures). Please look at my other items for more militaria and collectables.
