A nice find at the flea market last month! Sling appears nearly unissued. It holds the shape of having been on a rifle, but does not have significant wear or tear. Nicely stamped BOYT 43, with GAR stamped next to each of the steel clasps. Backside of the brass rivets holding the clasps shows some verdigris, as is to be expected after 80 years. Leather is a bit stiff, but you should have no problem getting this on a rifle and using it carefully! No cracking to the leather. I think the dark staining/marking on the one side of the sling is factory staining, the short side of the sling has none of that on it and is clean leather. Probably the nicest condition WW2 Boyt I’ve ever found! This item is in the category “Collectibles\Militaria\WW II (1939-45)\Original Period Items\United States\Field Gear, Equipment”.
