Up for sale is an Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling. The sling is marked: G&K 1918. This sling has the correct WWI Blackened Brass hooks. Still retains some of the original blackening on the brass hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keepers. The leather is soft and pliable. No rips or tears in the leather. There are some minor surface cracks and wrinkling of the leather, please see photos. The leather has darkened due to age. The stitching is all tight and intact. This is an Original Functional WWI era Sling and would look great on a WWI era rifle. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. It is NOT recommended for actual use. Pre-WWI Era French Army Mle 1866-74 Gras Rifle Leather Sling – Original – Very NICE Condition – RARE. Up for sale is a pre-WWI Era French Army Mle 1866-74 Gras Rifle Leather Sling. The leather is soft and supple. It has the leather keeper, brass buckle and brass stud. The are some minor surface cracks and wrinkling of the leather. The stitching is intact, no fraying. There are three notches cut into the lower edge of the sling, see photo. There are no markings or dates on the sling. Original slings for the Gras Rifle are very hard to find, especially in this condition. This sling is suitable for an historic display on your rifle. It is NOT recommended for actual usage.
