This is a very nice sling with. He color is a. Brown and is pretty. The leather is firm. The leather is smooth with little surface wear. There are some very faint surface cracks. The backside has some remnants of the original surface visible. He frogs are securely attached. And have some light patina. Comes with 2 nice sling keepers. All stitching is strong and completely intact. See my other sling listings. Handmade leather gunstock cover 8 oz leather and sling 10 oz leather to match. Leather is natural oiled leather and is laced with a buckskin colored cow hide that gives a real old west look! Matching lever wrap included! Easily attaches, is very attractive and very user friendly. (leather can be different shade depending on the hide). Special attachments supplied and incorporated into assembly. Shells held tightly with heavy loops or no loops at all if desired. Please notify me and I will add a large decorative stitch in place. Monogram no longer offered. Stitch on sling if choosing no shell loops. This can be made only for Rossi ranch hand and Henry mares leg. I add a cover on the back side of the sling so shell holders don’t show (not pictured). Color is natural 8 oz leather for cover and 12oz for the sling. As seen in pics these are incorporated into the stock cover and barrel. Assemble is set in a side mount arrangement allowing this to be carried across chest or across back in bandoleer style. Also comes with matching lever wrap! Note : mares leg front attachment is attached to barrel and magazine not like pictured to forearm. Sling is fully adjustable (54 long), will hold up to 13 cartridges (depending on size) or if you want I can add a stitch / lacing down the middle in place of shell loops. Just tell me along with gun info in message after sale. NOTE: back side of sling will be covered (not shown in pics) this makes a much nicer finish. Sorry that I don’t have pics to display this. Cover conforms, Fits tightly to stock as seen. Laces like a shoe. This is very comfortable and works great for carrying while on foot, horseback or atv. This example is a’Z-Stitch’ sling which were produced during the war. 1950′s Soviet and German reparation leather slings with straight stitching can be found occasionally as well. Sling is in excellent NOS condition with visible ink stamps. Leather is supple, strong, and flexible. This was clearly stored in proper conditions so as not to be dried out or damaged in a myriad of other ways over the past 80 years. Spanish-American War Era US M1898 Leather Sling for the Krag Rifle – Original – NICE Condition. Up for sale is a Spanish American War US M1898 Leather Sling for the Krag Rifle. This is the later sling designed specifically for the M1898 Krag Rifle. It has a single brass hook with a loop end and brass stud. The leather is soft and supple. There are surface cracks in the leather, see photos. No tears in the leather. It has both leather sling keepers and the brass stud. The sling is used, please see photos for condition. This sling over 125 year old may not be strong enough to support the weight of the rifle. Attempting to use this sling to actually carry a rifle will probably break the sling. Sling is in excellent near-NOS condition with ink stamps visible on backside and on each dog collar. Leather is supple, strong, and flexible.
