In the early to mid 60′s (about when Remington introduced the Model 700 and included a 1 leather sling with it) Winchester started also offering a sling with their Model 70 rifles. The only differences between the Remington and the Winchester were that the Winchester sling had a rolled edge border and two diamond shaped metal staples in the keeper loop instead of the stitching used on the plain leather Remington sling.
