This Marlin rifle sling has never been mounted on a rifle. It comes as shown with sling mounts. The title shows’like new’ because I put Montana Sling Conditioner on it to soften the leather. Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling for the M1903 Springfield or M1917 Enfiled – Nice Condition. Up for sale is an Original WWI Era US Army/USMC M1907 Leather Sling. There are no visible markings or dates. This sling has the correct WWI Blackened Brass hooks. Still retains some of the original blackening on the brass hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keepers. The leather is supple and flexible. No rips or tears in the leather. There are some minor surface cracks and wrinkling of the lower sling, please see photos. The lower section has been stretched & wrinkled from prior usage. The leather has darkened due to age. The stitching is all tight and intact. This is an Original Functional WWI era Sling and would look great on a WWI era rifle. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. Nice condition for its 80 plus years. There is some minor surface cracks across some of the holes but still very serviceable. Complete with two keepers but they do not match each other. Originally I thought this was a sling for a K98k rifle but was told that its actually for a post war Austrian STG-58. It measures about 55 1/2 long and almost 1 wide. 2 holes instead of the 3 on the Mauser. No checkered pattern in the leather. See pics as part of the description. Ask any questions you may have. Will add this metal stud fastener that was on another sling that I got at the same time as this one.
