This rare sling is complete, full length, and has never been modified, repaired, or polished. It retains its original painted Kanji markings. It is offered as pictured, remains supple, and shows only normal wear, particularly given its age and wartime usage. Overall, a very difficult to find and desirable sling for your rifle. Original WWI Era British Pattern 1914 Leather Rifle Sling – No. 1 Lee-Enfield SMLE Rifle – Excellent Condition – VERY RARE. Up for sale is a RARE WWI Era British Pattern 1914 Leather Rifle Sling for the No. 1 Lee-Enfield SMLE Rifle. Is an Original period sling. The leather is soft and supple. No rips or tears. No cracks or crazing of the leather. It has both leather keepers. There are some partial markings on the end of the sling. They are partially obscured. M1 Garand leather original rifle sling ww2 WRA Winchester, Springfield. I bought one too many of these at The CMP North Store. This one is in great shape and the leather is soft. I’d recommend still using Lexol leather cleaner on it though just to freshen it up. The brass on it needs polished of course. The only stamp on it says P. I included a picture of it. The sling looks like it was used a lot, and is worn down. You can see this in the photos. This sling was sitting in a basement, in a box for many years and has some white spots, and smells a little bit musty. We found this sling in a box with other military slings.
