Post-WWII Era US Army M1907 Leather Sling for the M1 Garand & BAR Rifle – 3-Hook Version – MRT 3-59 – Excellent Condition. Up for sale is an Original post-WWII Era US Army M1907 Leather Sling. This is the 3-Hook Version, designed for the BAR Rifle. This sling has the correct WWII Steel hooks. The sling is used, see photo’s for condition. The sling has both leather keepers. The leather is soft and pliable. No rips or tears in the leather. The sling is marked: MRT 3-59. The leather has darkened slightly due to age. The stitching is all tight and intact. This is an Original Functional post-WWII era Sling and would look great on a WWII era rifle. NOTE: this is a collectible item, suitable for a correct historic display. It is NOT recommended for actual use. This is the sling that was commonly used on the M1917 Enfield, the M1 Garand, the M1903 Springfield, the M1903A3 Springfield and the M1941 Johnson Rifles. Originally I thought this was a sling for a K98k rifle but was told that its actually for a post war Austrian STG-58. It measures about 55 1/2 long and almost 1 wide. 2 holes instead of the 3 on the Mauser. No checkered pattern in the leather. See pics as part of the description. Ask any questions you may have. Will add this metal stud fastener that was on another sling that I got at the same time as this one.
