US Army “doughboys” in WW1 were equipped with a specially designed leather rifle sling for use with the M-1903 Springfield. The sturdy M-1907 sling proved so successful that it was again issued during WW2 to carry both the Springfield and the M-1 Garand. This US Army USMC Marine WW1 WW2 M-1907 SPRINGFIELD GARAND LEATHER RIFLE SLING is in good condition, with moderate verdigris to the brass buckles, some surface cracking around most of the buckle holes, some verdigris remaining present inside some of the buckle holes, and with some scattered drying, darkening, and age wear evident (most pictured). Otherwise, the sling is in fine shape, with no other damage to the tough brown leather construction. Most interestingly, it boasts fully intact brass “claw” sizing adjusters, sports both of the original brown leather sizing loops, and is unmarked as to its maker or date. A fine example of a rare, original US Army USMC Marine WW1 WW2 M-1907 SPRINGFIELD GARAND LEATHER RIFLE SLING. Marked at the reverse ricasso, and sporting elegant twice ridged hardwood handle scales. Vintage US Military LEATHER M-40 rifle sling MRT Dec 1986 USMC sniper, 1 1/4in

Vintage US Military LEATHER M-40 rifle sling MRT Dec 1986 USMC sniper, 1 1/4in. Military leather , Competition Rifle Sling W/ adjuster & KEEPER & hooks. 30 yrs old & Nice and New Condition and ORIGINAL! Did I mention, there are a lot of CRAP repops out there! This is a chance to own one of the MOST STURDY American made rifle slings, this rifle sling is patterned after the early Springfield 1903 slings the model is 1907 sling. This is a NATIONAL MATCH sling. It has been the best choice for National Match shooting with the M1 Garand or the M1A/M14 rifles, it even has been used on the M16 and AR15 rifles. I, personally have used this same type sling for high-power National Match shooting. This is used to’lock in’ the rifle to secure a steady hold. Marksmen and snipers know exactly what they are used for and how to use them. Still seen on the firing line at competitive matches it is recognized as an original vintage item. This sling is very strong and can be either used for High Power or Small-bore shooting. This sling is new and shows no use, with very soft color & hue to the leather. There are no cracks on this sling and it still retains its sling keepers, and with the phosphate sling hooks. Please look closely at the photos and decide if this is an item for you to replace or keep for future use. This is obviously only a leather sling and does not cause a rifle to go “bang”. The letters “MRT” stand for Mildew Resistant Treatment and it is not a brand name, but the method of treating leather and other goods from the mildew associated with wet climates. This is ORIGINAL U. You know this is the one YOU want! The item “Vintage US Military LEATHER M-40 rifle sling MRT Dec 1986 USMC sniper, 1 1/4in” is in sale since Monday, May 25, 2015.
