The leather used is tanned in the USA from top quality steer hides. It measures 1/8 inch thick on the strap and top design piece. Know that you are getting the real deal. 1/4 inch foam padding is used in the shoulder area and is covered with 100% real suede. Adjustable from 33 inches to 39 inches long. The padded area measures 2-1/2 inches wide by 12 inches long. Chicago screws secure swivels on the sling. They will accept most swivels for a 1 inch strap. The Chicago screws can be removed with a standard flat head screw driver. NOTE: The slings DO NOT include swivels. Leather is dyed with an oil stain that soaks into the leather and will not rub off or fade over time. Sheen is applied to repel water and add a nice glossy finish. Very nice looking sling overall. This is an original leather sling from a Krag or Trapdoor. This sling type can and was used on other rifles up to 1907 and beyond. It has very good brass hardware and very good leather. The keeper stitching is very strong as is the section that holds the two sling leather pieces together. The brass button has some dark and green tarnish. The frog is securely attached. The leather has medium and darker brown colors. The sling has a combination of smooth and surface wrinkles with very few minor hairline cracks and no noticeable surface cracking. There is a repair just below the button and it is very strong. The leather is soft and pliable. It measures approximately 67 1/4 inches. The backside of the leather looks very good. I will be posting more of these slings.
