Sling is broken in and shows signs of use, but all is in very good condition. Leather is very good with no cracking or splitting. It has been in climate controlled storage for a long time and that is why it is in very good shape. Hand tooled in the USA, this sling is a beauty featuring a deer, duck, mountain lion and rabbit as major graphics in the sling. M-1 Garand, M1903 Springfield type Leather Rifle Sling dated 1918 marked G&K. This appears to be a WWI, World War I manufactured sling that is in nice shape. Up to you to use it to carry M-1 or’03. Major problem is that the rivets on one of the hooks needs to be repaired. I was told that there are rivets available to do this. The leather is soft, flexible and not dry rotted. The second hook looks to be firmly attached. The loop that holds the extra strap in place appears to be sound.
