The sling is about 72 inches long and is 1 1/8 inches wide. It is marked W. G on the end and Rock Island Arsenal E. The leather is still pliable but has small cracks and flaking. NOTE – The sling is over 100 years old and should not be used to carry the rifle. It should be used for display one. Do not tighten the sling let it hang loosely on the rifle.
